Kenneth Poynter Lt. Governor
4 Year Term of Office 10/01/10 through 09-30-14
September 8, 2010 I would like to thank all of you that supported me in the recent election. It is my first attempt at running for office and it was a learning experience and something that I won’t ever forget. I want everyone to know that I truly appreciate your support and the faith and trust that you have bestowed upon me to be your Lt. Governor. I pledge to do the best job that I possibly can and to keep to heart our community and the Tribe at all times. Whether you voted for me or not, I want everyone to know that I am accessible to all and my door will always be open. Although there are too many people to mention by name, I do want you to know that I appreciate all your help, all your words of advice and all your phone calls and questions during my campaign. It was a collective effort and I couldn’t have done it without all of you. I especially want to thank Laura “Seagull” Dana for being my campaign manager and teaching me a few things about running for public office. I will admit that I didn’t make her job very easy and want to thank her for all her hard work and support. Lastly, I want to thank Thomas Lewey for being a worthy opponent and for serving as our Lt. Governor for the last four years. I would also like to thank Denise Altvater and Ed Bassett for the time they spent serving our community as council members as well as Rick Doyle as Governor. Serving the public, and our community, takes dedication and a lot of work and can often be a thankless job. So, with that said I thank you all and look forward to working with the newly elected Governor, council, and all Tribal employees and community members during the next four years. Sincerely, Ken Poynter |
