Tribal Court Room Judge's Bench

    Purpose of Program:

The Passamaquoddy Tribe of Pleasant Point shall administer a Tribal Court program that services the Passamaquoddy Tribe and, in some cases, the Penobscot Tribal members.  The Pleasant Point court works in cooperation with the existing Satellite Tribal Court Office Staff of Indian Township.  This program operates a fair, efficient and effective forum for the prompt administration of justice that settles disputes and protects the rights of Tribal members.  While also administering actions under the Passamaquoddy Tribe Child Welfare Code, the Tribal Court shall ultimately be serving the Passamaquoddy people as a trial and appellate forum, which cover areas within Criminal, Civil, Juvenile and Probate Court of Records.
