COMMUNITY HEALTH OUTREACH WORKER (CHOW) – Washington County

Unique outreach position facilitating access to care and services for Maine's migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs) and their families on behalf of the Maine Migrant Health Program, Maine’s only farmworker health program.  The CHOW will provide health outreach services to MSFWs from tribal communities during the blueberry harvest in Washington County. Responsibilities to include: outreach, health education, case management, and intake. Ideal candidate will be highly motivated, self-starter who possesses strong interpersonal skills, has a background in Native American Culture, is committed to working with MSFWs, and be comfortable working in mobile settings. Experience in social services, outreach, and health education preferred, especially working with(in) tribal communities from either Maine or the Canadian Maritimes. Mix of daytime, evening and some weekend hours (40 hours/week for 3 weeks), competitive wage. Reliable transportation/clean driving record, bilingual in M’kmaq and English preferred.
